I mean is it a katana or a longsword or something else? If it's the former I could give you a crash course in using it. If it's not then I could still give you a crash course in handling a blade safely, but you'll have to get someone else to teach you some kata.

Yes.

You might not use it much, but if you ever do have to resort to it then at least you'll know some basics. You'd be surprised at how much they can help you not hurt yourself in a fight, even if you don't technically know the kata.

Besides, having a big-ass sword is like having a big-ass gun: it's intimidating. As long as you look as if you know what you're doing, you might be able to scare opponents off before you actually need to swing the thing around. If you don't know how to at least hold it properly, trust me, they'll know.

To tell the truth, I've had more time to relax here in the digital world than I ever had back home. Half the time I don't know what to do with myself.

Eh, seems to be the case for a lot of people. Even Greggo says he's kinda bored when he's not at home or stuck in the hospital for various reasons. And Greg bored can be a little... scary sometimes.

Just seems like there's not that much to do besides find a job and try to keep yourself mentally occupied if not physically occupied.

I'm not much good at not being physically occupied. There's a lot to do on Clan grounds whenever I get bored, and that's without even having to go into the archives. But here ... not so much.
